Janice M Richard

                Janice M. (Prinn) Richard, 58, of Gardner, died Sunday, August 4, 2019 with her family by her side, following a long and courageous battle with dementia.

            Born in Gardner on July 25, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Doris (Cormier) Prinn. A lifelong resident of Gardner, she graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1979 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Fitchburg State University in 1991. Janice was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Dave Richard Excavating, Inc. of Gardner, for many years. She was also a long-term substitute teacher and volunteer for Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School of Gardner. Janice was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner and its Ladies of St. Anne’s Society.

            Janice loved the holidays and all they entailed, especially Christmas. She treasured spending time with her family in Maine and loved going for long walks on the beach. She enjoyed playing tennis and card games with her friends. Janice was a selfless, loving, kind, compassionate woman who loved her family above all else; and she adored her dogs, Griffin and Casey.

            She leaves her husband of 35 years, David R. Richard of Gardner; daughters, Chelsea Richard and her fiancé Michael Girard of Templeton, and Brittany Richard and her significant other, Pat Cormier of Westminster; twin brother, Jeffrey Prinn and his significant other, Kathy Lawrence of Winchendon; sisters, Linda Dembek of Gardner, Sheila Heglin and her husband Richard of Gardner, Cindy Barnes and her husband David of Ashburnham, and Pam LeBlanc of Gardner; aunts, Theresa Violet and Ann Marie Roberts; uncles, Richard Cormier and Arthur Melanson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

            Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date.

            Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
