Janice M. (Richard) Bourgeois, 59, of 194 Central St., Gardner, died Monday, January 15th in UMASS Memorial Center, University Campus, Worcester, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on August 23, 1947, she was the daughter of Zoel and Zelima Marie (Cormier) Richard.
She was an accountant employed by Bards Medical Supply Co. of Fitzwilliam, NH for 3 years until retiring in 1991 due to illness.
Janice received her GED and in 1986 she received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Mount Wachusett Community College.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
Janice enjoyed working on her computer and pogo games. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved the ocean, especially Wells, ME.
Her husband of 22 years, James V. Bourgeois, died in 1995.
She leaves 3 sons, David L. Richard and his fiancée Deborah MacAloney of Winchendon, Timothy J. Bissonnette and his fiancée Tina Raulston of Orange, Jason L. Bourgeois and his wife Heidi of Hubbardston; 1 stepson, Kevin J. Bourgeois of Baldwinville; 3 daughters, Becky A. Bourque and her husband Steven of Baldwinville, Anne M. Arslan and her husband Erkan of W. Springfield, Carrie L. Bourgeois and her wife Carmen of Gardner, 1 stepdaughter, Debra A. Bourgeois of Gardner; 5 brothers, Gerald Richard and his wife Anne, Dennis Richard all of Gardner, Noel Richard of Leominster, Danny Richard and his wife Michelle of Baldwinville, Robert Richard and his husband John of Fitchburg; 2 sisters, Gloria Belliveau and her husband Laurie of Gardner, Eleana White and her husband Michael of S. Carolina; 18 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Dawn Bourgeois who died in 2004.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, January 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
