Janet L Smith

Janet L. “Nana” (Levesque) Smith, 66, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in her residence, following a brief illness.

            Born in Gardner on May 10, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Rosaire and Rita Levesque. Janet graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1970. She earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner in 1978.

            Janet was employed for 42 years in the billing department of Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner and Tyco International of Westminster.

            She was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was also a Social Member of the Napoleon Club of Gardner.

            Janet enjoyed golfing, doing yard work and spending time outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her grandson Alexander who was the light of her life.

             She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Larry E. Smith, who died in 2014.

            Janet leaves her son, Eric E. Smith of Gardner; grandson, Alexander E. Smith; aunts, Delia Jean, Pauline Foster and Val Foster; several cousins; and her best friend, Marcia Ikonen. She was predeceased by her sister, Claire Levesque.

            Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.

            A calling hour will be held Tuesday, February 26th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
