Janet A. Mulqueen

Janet A. (Miller) Mulqueen, 76, of 246 Chestnut Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in her residence surrounded by family following a three year battle with cancer.
Janet was born in Barre, MA on January 12, 1936, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Trudell) Miller.
She graduated from Barre High School with the Class of 1954.
Janet was employed in the Payroll Department of Simplex Time Recorder Company of Gardner for many years. She was previously employed in the offices of Heywood-Wakefield Manufacturing Company of Gardner and in the Radiology Department of Heywood Hospital of Gardner.
Janet was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Gardner.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, baking, playing cards and going for walks with her husband. She was a sports enthusiast, loving all sports.
Janet served on various committees for Sacred Heart School of Gardner, including the School Committee. She was always willing to help where needed and volunteered on numerous boards both for Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart School.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, John F. Mulqueen of Gardner; two sons, Jeffrey J. Mulqueen and his wife Judy of Worcester and Dr. John F. Mulqueen, Jr. and his wife Paula of Gardner; one daughter, Patricia A. Mulqueen of Deerfield, NH; one brother, John Miller and his wife Estelle of FL; four sisters, Jeanne Miller of S. Dennis, MA, Elaine Hardy and her husband David of Evergreen, CO, her twin sister, Joyce Berlo of Barre and Ann Pitzen and her husband Dale of Rochdale, MA; one son-in-law, Vito Iacoviello of North Andover; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Sean, Christopher and Conor Mulqueen, Ann-Marie, Marissa and Gina Iacoviello and Matthew Ogden; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Iacoviello.
According to her wishes, her body has been donated to Harvard Medical School in Boston for medical studies.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
