James F. "Jimmy" Lannon, 78, 116 Church Street, Gardner, died peacefully Monday, November 2, 2015 in HealthAlliance Hospital of Leominster, following a brief illness.
Born in Waltham on July 14, 1937, he was the son of the late William J. and Rose (Sullivan) Lannon. James was raised and educated in Waltham, and graduated from Waltham High School.
He was employed by Nichols and Stone Company of Gardner as a packer for 20 years, retiring in 2008. James was also employed part-time by Stop 'N Shop Supermarket of Gardner as a cashier.
He was an avid pool player and was a member of several leagues including the Senior Center. James loved sports and was a huge fan of all New England Sports, especially the Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox. He also loved watching golf on television. James was a longtime member of AA.
He leaves one sister, Joyce Miner and her husband Arthur of York, Maine; several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by three brothers, William J. Lannon, Jr, Richard Lannon and Owen Lannon; and by one sister, Rose Loud.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 12th at 4:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, November 12th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
