James "Jimmy" Girouard, 89, of 114 Euclid Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Keystone Center of Leominster.
Born in Gardner on May 7, 1925, he was the son of the late James J. and Amanda (Williams) Girouard.
James was a self-employed painter/wallpaperer for many years, retiring in 2010.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
James was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of the Trout Club of Gardner and Club 25 of Gardner.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Teresa E. (Ballester) Girouard of Gardner; one son, James J. Girouard and his wife Ingrid Buckman of Nashua, NH; one sister, Jean Polastri of Gardner; two grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Girouard; one great-grandchild, Holden Girouard; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Kevin L. Girouard and by his eight brothers and sisters.
Services will be private.
Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner is handling the arrangements.
