J. Robert "Joe-Bob" Pelletier, 67, of 22 Way St., Gardner, died Sunday, May 15th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on October 7, 1937, he was the son of Henry X. and Loretta M. (Girouard) Pelletier.
He was a Campus Police Officer employed by the former Gardner State Hospital for 25 years until retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was a benefit member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner, Acadien Social Club, Gardner Lodge of Elks #1426, and the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner. He enjoyed watching television game shows.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force for 4 years.
He leaves 2 brothers, Raymond N. Pelletier of Bakersfield, CA and Ronald P. Pelletier of Gardner; 3 sisters M. Louise Chartrand of Gardner, Sister Lorraine Pelletier of the Sisters of Presentation in Methuen and Anita M. DiRusso of Leominster; 1 nephew Michael Pelletier of Tahachapi, CA; 1 niece, Laura DiRusso of Leominster; 2 greatnephews, 2 greatnieces, and several cousins. He was predeceased by a nephew, Anthony DiRusso who died in 1994.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18th, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, May 17th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
