J. Gertrude Lashua

J. Gertrude (Ropulewis) Lashua, 88, of 127 North Common Rd., Westminster, died Thursday, July 1st in St. Vincent's Hospital @ Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on May 25, 1916, she was the daughter of Frank and Theodora (Harasimowicz) Ropulewis.
She was a 1934 graduate of Gardner High School and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Mrs. Lashua was a member of Oak Hill Country Club, Fitchburg and was an enthusiastic golfer and sports fan, especially baseball and football. She enjoyed playing bridge and reading.
Her husband of 51 years, Howard Francis Lashua, died in 1998.
She leaves 2 sons, David H. Lashua of Ashburnham and Peter M. Lashua of Westminster; 1 daughter, Lynn LaRoche of Westminster; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Lashua of Westminster, Timothy LaRoche of San Diego, CA, Katie LaRoche of Westminster, Amanda Lashua of Ashburnham, Nicholas Tomasetti of New Orleans, LA and Angela Tomasetti of Ashburnham; 5 nieces and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by a son, Howard F. Lashua Jr. and 2 brothers, Edward Ropulewis of Florida and Joseph Ropulewis of Chatham.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
