Irene E. Webber

Irene E. (Lajoie) Webber, 92, of 10 Forest St., Baldwinville, died peacefully Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home following a short illness, surrounded by her family.
Born in Gardner on November 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ruth (Erickson) Lajoie.
Irene was a secretary employed by the Narragansett Regional School System for 20 years until retiring in 1982. She was previously employed at Hedstrom Union Company of Gardner and also of Fitchburg.
She was a 1938 graduate of Gardner High School.
Irene was a member of the Chestnut Street United Methodist Church of Gardner.
Mrs. Webber enjoyed crocheting afghans, reading Jessica Fletcher books and doing word puzzles. She was a lover of birds, and an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Irene was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Paul W. Webber, who died November 16, 1996.
She leaves two sons, Russell P. Webber of Charlemont, MA and Bruce A. Webber of Hubbardston; one daughter, Ruth Ann Webber of Baldwinville; one sister, Elaine Johns and her husband Thomas of Gardner; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lajoie of Winchendon; two grandchildren, Marcella Thrower and Glenda Spurling; five great-grandchildren, Crystal Spurling-Wetterwald, Seraphina Gibson, James Gibson, Emma Thrower and Ethan Thrower; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Ralph Lajoie; two sisters, Grace Strout and Helen Gifford and a daughter-in-law, Linda Webber.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Dr. Reverend Gary Heikkila will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Monday, March 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
