Irene C. Therrien

Irene C. (Cormier) Therrien, 85, of 21 Halford St., Gardner died Sunday in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a short illness.
Born in St. John, NB, Canada on August 28, 1918, she was the daughter of Wilfred J. and Marceline (Thibodeau) Cormier.
She was a 1936 graduate of Gardner High School.
Mrs. Therrien was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society, A.A.R.P., Gardner Golden Agers and the Holy Family League of Charity.
She enjoyed collecting owls, knitting, crewel embroidery and making crossword puzzles. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life.
Her husband of 47 years, Paul L. Therrien, died in 1986.
She leaves a son, Gardner Fire Chief Ronald P. Therrien and his wife Patricia; 1 daughter, Diane M. Richard and her husband Ronald; 2 brothers, Clarence J. Cormier and Normand "Minzi" Cormier all of Gardner; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Paul W. Therrien who died in 1999.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27th, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.

Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, December 26th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA 01603.
