Irene A. (LeBlanc) Magliacane, 91, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on February 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elise (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.
Irene was employed by the Walter E. Fernald Developmental Center of Templeton as a caregiver for many years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner.
Irene enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, playing Keno and going to the casino. She loved cooking, sewing and tending to her flower gardens. Her utmost priority in life was to be a wife, mother and grandmother; and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 69 years, Emilio R. Magliacane of Gardner; sons, Steven Magliacane and his wife Jane of Gardner, and James Magliacane and his wife Doreen of TN; daughters, Janice Magliacane of Gardner, Maria Saven and her husband Wayne of Athol, Joanne Maillet and her husband Donald of Gardner, and Louise Ellowitz and her husband Michael of Templeton and Del Ray Beach, FL; brother, Ronald LeBlanc of Gardner; sister, Alma Favreau of Gardner; grandchildren, Mark, Tamara and Jesse Maillet, Michael and Jeffrey Langlois, Matthew and Nicholas Magliacane, Amanda Smart and Heather Birt; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Gabriella, Andrew, Emilia, Eliana and Giovanni; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman (Hector) LeBlanc; sisters, Yvonne Allard, Rita Boulanger and Doris Whitney; son-in-law, Bob Langlois; and grandson, Jonathan Birt.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, March 13th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
