Irene M. (Saulnier) LeBlanc, 88, of 1915 Seminole Boulevard, Largo, Florida, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2013 in Largo Medical Center, Largo, Florida, following a brief illness.
She was born in St. Marie, N.B. Canada on August 5, 1925, the daughter of the late Edmond and Justine (Pellerin) Saulnier.
Irene was a homemaker for many years, and previously owned Parkers Cafe, also known as the Poutine Parlor on Parker Street in Gardner. She was also employed by Heywood Wakefield Company and Bercon Company of Gardner.
Irene was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, shopping and walking. She loved to travel, and loved spending time with her family.
Irene was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Arsene J. LeBlanc, who died June 14, 2013.
She leaves two sons, Paul J. LeBlanc and Gerard Y. "Bib" Leblanc both of Largo, FL; three daughters, Claudette T. LeBlanc and her significant other John Flagg of Athol, Lucille M. McCaie and her husband Rheal of Gardner and Gloria M. Jalbert and her husband Ronald of Baldwinville; one brother, Ronald Sonier and his wife Marie of CT; two sisters, Bertha Hietala of Gardner and Lorraine Mizner of Moncton, NB Canada; nine grandchildren, Paul LeBlanc, Jr., Steven Doiron, Lisa Doiron, Jessica LeBlanc, Crystal LeBlanc, Ricky McCaie, Ryan McCaie, Jason Jalbert and Jake Jalbert; ten great-grandchildren, Mykenzie, Gabrielle, Jasmine, Justin, Kaydence, Jillian, Jackson, Quintin, Anna Belle and Philip; her Goddaughter, Jeannette Bourque of St. Marie, N.B. Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was predeceased by her son, Gerard LeBlanc; five brothers, Edmond, Normand, Hector, Antoine and Alcide Saulnier; and by sisters, Margaret LeBlanc and Doris LeBlanc.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 12th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be Saturday, October 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
