Irene I. (Allard) Cormier, 95, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, formerly of 16 Metcalf Street, Gardner, died peacefully, Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Born in Gardner on December 4, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William and Sophie (Broda) Allard.
Irene graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1936.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers.
She spent her life as a homemaker; and enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and walking. She had a warm smile for all, and made friends easily.
Irene was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Victor J. Cormier, who died August 11, 2008.
She leaves one son, Steven V. Cormier and his wife Janice of Ellington, CT; two daughters, Suzanne Charland and her significant other, Ronald Ahlstrom of Gardner and Jayne Hallock and her husband Peter of Gardner; one sister-in-law, Marion Allard of Gardner; seven grandchildren, Coreen Raterman, Robert Charland, Jeffrey Charland, Christine Pellegrini, Gregg Cormier,Katie Greenwood and Kelly Ball; eleven great-grandchildren, Noah Maillet, Allison Greenwood, Anathea Ball, Clementine Ball, Abigail Charland, Nathan Charland, Edison Charland, Celia Charland, Andrews Pellegrini, Adrian Pellegrini and Grady Pellegrini; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edmond Allard and Raymond Allard; one sister, Dorothy Mattson; and by one great-grandchild, Nina Charland.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 14th, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, August 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
