Irene M. (Roy) (Coulombe) Columbus, 83, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner and formerly of 176 Blanchard St., Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, May 31st in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner.
Born in Gardner on December 20, 1922, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary-Jane (Maillet) Roy.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She enjoyed reading, watching television and especially loved her family.
Her husband of 46 years, Raymond J. Columbus, died in 1990.
She leaves 1 son, Ronald J. Coulombe of Gardner; 2 daughters, June P. Harding and husband John of Gardner, Jane M. Maillet and husband Francis of Baldwinville; 2 sisters, Eva Miganowicz of Gardner, Rita LeClair of Templeton; 6 grandchildren, Michael and Mark Harding, Jennifer and Jason Maillet, Joshua and Jeremy Coulombe; 5 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia Maillet, Joseph LaBonte, Ryan Gamache and Laryssa Harding; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Cleo, Wilfred, Edmund Roy all of Gardner; 6 sisters, Alice Boucher, Ida Roy, Eugenie Girouard all of Gardner, Beatrice Paquette of Oregon, Mildred Brassard of Florida, and Orena Tomasiumas of Canada.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
