Iraida A. Sanchez

Iraida A. Sanchez, 89, of Baldwinville, died peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Alliance Health at Baldwinville after a period of declining health. 

Born in Naranjato, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan and Ramona Alicea Sanchez. Iraida was a secretary employed by the Long Island Advance for many years until her retirement. She was previously employed in Queens, NY as a record salesperson and as the executive secretary to the president of Goya Foods in Puerto Rico. 

Iraida's life was colored with her love for art. A gifted artist, she found joy in painting and creating abstract art and crafts. Her artistic passion was a source of inspiration for many, and her dedication to her craft was truly admirable. But above all, Iraida's greatest joy was being a mother and spending time with her family, treasuring every moment spent with them. 

Iraida is survived by her daughter, Iris Rivera of Gardner; two grandchildren, Raymond and Lana Gutierrez; two siblings, Miriam Garcia and Luiz A. Sanchez; nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Souffront; and eight siblings. 

There are no services.
