Imelda M. (Thibeau) Richard, 85, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner and formerly of 79 Sunrise Lane, Gardner, died Wednesday, April 6th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner.
Born in St. Ignace, NB, Canada on June 29, 1919, she was the daughter of Basile and Elmina (Vautour) Thibeau.
She was a self-employed seamstress employed by Garbose Brothers, Cohen's Clothing, both of Gardner, and Dosan Sportswear.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She had a strong devotion to the Rosary. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Her husband of 52 years, Alfred J. Richard, died in 1989.
She leaves 5 sons, Regis J. Richard of St. Louis de Kent, NB, Canada, France J. Richard and wife Margie of Athol, Gilles J. Richard and wife Anna of Westminster, Serge J. Richard and wife Barbara of East Templeton, Daniel F. Richard and wife Bobbie of Otter River; 2 daughters, Yvette Richard of St. Jean, PQ, Canada and Yvonne Richard and husband Lorenzo of San Diego, CA; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Antoine Thibeau and 2 sisters Therese Poirier and Sr. Bernadette Vautour.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, April 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing Activity Fund, 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, MA 01440 or to Holy Rosary Church Renovation Fund, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440.
