Ida M. (Richard) Cormier, 97, of 59 Eastwood Circle, formerly of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died Tuesday, November 21st in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Gardner.
Born in Rumford, Maine on December 11, 1908, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Gallant) Richard.
Mrs. Cormier was a housekeeper employed by Heywood Hospital in Gardner for several years, until retiring in 1973.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was a member of the Gardner Golden Agers, AARP and The Holy Family League of Charity.
Her husband, Emilien J. Cormier died in 1966.
Mrs. Cormier leaves one son, Gardner City Councillor Ronald F. Cormier and his wife Marcelle of Gardner; three sisters, Bertha Morin of Escondido, CA, Lena Bouchard of LaMesa, CA and Alyce Cormier of Hudson, NH; two grandchildren, Craig R. Cormier of Leominster and his fiancée Tara Masingo, and Pamela A. Autery and her husband David of Cotuit, MA; one great-granddaughter Molly Rose Autery of Cotuit, MA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Alfred Richard, and two sisters, Yvonne Arsenault and Blanche Allain.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, November 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
