Henry C. "Lucky" Holmes, 56, of 38 Main St., Gardner, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 23rd in his residence.
Born in Gardner on February 13, 1948, he was the son of Henry and Brenda (Sheehan) Holmes.
At the time of his death he was a janitor employed by Heywood Hospital, Gardner where he worked for the last 8 years.
He was a 1967 graduate of Gardner High School and was named to its Hall of Fame in 1996 in baseball, football and basketball. He was an avid sportsman.
Mr. Holmes was a Vietnam War U.S. Army Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal.
He leaves a son, Christopher L. Holmes of Henderson, Nevada; 2 daughters, Shani Sullivan and husband Edward of Nashua, NH and Chelsea L. Holmes of Townsend; 1 cousin, Brian Hall of Gardner.
Calling hours at the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner will be Wednesday, September 29th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
