Helena M. (Viel) Bouchard, 71, of 34 Douglas Rd., Gardner died peacefully Wednesday, February 9th in the Leo P. Lachance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Born in St. Anne, NB, Canada on February 1, 1934, she was the daughter of Omeril and Edith (Russel) Viel.
She was a customer service representative employed by Digital Mfg. Co. of Westminster for 23 years, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and was a friend to all. She was loved dearly by her husband and children. Mrs. Bouchard enjoyed knitting, cooking, and just being a Mom.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Conrad Bouchard of Gardner; 5 sons, Donald L. Bouchard of Lynn, Gerry G. Bouchard and wife Elaine of Templeton; James Bouchard and wife Kelley of Leominster; Thomas Bouchard and fiancee Karsa Hirons of Athol, Daniel D. Bouchard and wife Annie of Shirley; 2 daughters, Ghislaine Ropes and husband George of Hamilton, Rose Marie LaFond and husband Rusty of Winchendon; 2 brothers, Enoil Viel of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, Oneil Viel of Mattawa, Ontario, Canada; 1 sister, Viola Bernier of Grand Fall, NB, Canada; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Noella Guerrette of St. Anne, NB, Canada who died in 1987.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, February 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
