Helen P. (Lison) Wise, 73, of 125 Sand Street, Gardner died Monday, September 28th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.

She was born in Gardner on January 22, 1936, the daughter of the late Fred and Helen (Cormier) Lison.

Helen graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the Class of 1954.

Prior to retiring in 1999, Helen was employed by Green Thumb Co. of Gardner as a receptionist. She was previously employed by Rich's Department Store of Gardner, and also the Gardner Community Action Committee.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.

Helen enjoyed playing cards. She was a close friend of the late Joanne Bernard. Helen was loved by all who knew her, and will be remembered as a kind and gentle woman.

She leaves one son, Kris D. Wise and his wife Paula of Phillipston; one brother, Leo A. Lison and his wife May of Fitchburg; one sister, Eva L. Ares of Gardner; one aunt, Eva (Cormier) Bilodeau of Rutland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Anita Allain of Leominster and Lena (Erickson) Demmler of Ashby; and by her former husband, Peter R. Wise.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, September 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Activity Fund, 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, MA 01440.
