Helen A. (Augusto) Savoie, 83, of Ashburnham, died peacefully Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Cambridge on March 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Albina (Pacheco) Augusto. She graduated from Ayer-Shirley High School with the Class of 1956. Helen was a Cash Room worker employed by Home Depot for 5-years. She was previously a Manager employed by Kmart of Fitchburg for 18-years.
Helen loved to cook and work on crafts. She was exceptional at needlework and made many works of art over the years. Helen was very family-oriented and treasured time spent with them, especially her grandchildren, with whom she was affectionately known as Grammy.
Helen is survived by her husband of 62-years, Clarence Savoie of Ashburnham; a daughter, Cynthia Boucher and her husband John of Ashburnham; a son Brian Savoie and his wife Sarah of Spencer; five grandchildren, Daniel and Emily Boucher, Zachary Savoie, Emilee Flynn, and Benjamin Savoie; a great-grandchild, Sutton Boucher; a sister, Mary Ares of Gardner; a brother George Augusto and his wife Carol of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark Savoie; and two brothers, Joseph Augusto and William Costa.
A Calling Hour will be held Friday, May 21, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc. 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. A Graveside Service at New Cemetery, 121 Main Street, Ashburnham, MA, will follow.
