Helen E. (Lashua) Murray, 75, of 464 Boston Post Road, Amherst, NH and formerly of 254 Pleasant St., Gardner, died peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital, Nashua, NH on Monday, December 27th 2010, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on August 13, 1935, she was the daughter of Frank and Regina (Wengris) Lashua.
She was a Special Education Assistant employed by the City of Gardner for 20 years until retiring in 2000. She was previously employed at Sabatini Printing and Polish American Credit Union, both in Gardner.
Helen was a 1953 graduate of Gardner High School and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
She enjoyed reading, watching public television, especially Channel 2, playing bingo, traveling to Atlantic City and caring for the elderly. She loved dogs and cats, in particular Abigail and Myka.
She leaves her husband of 52 years, Richard W. Murray of Amherst, NH; one son, David S. Murray and Celia Bourbeau of Merrimack, NH; 1 stepgranddaughter, Sarah Bourbeau of Merrimack, NH; a sister-in-law, Grace Lashua of Old Orchard Beach, ME and several nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Leonard Lashua and Paul Lashua; 1 sister, Eleanor Lashua.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30th at 3:00 p.m.
in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, December 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
