Helen P. McAuliffe

Helen P. (Prendergast) McAuliffe, 81, of 8 Memorial Street, Baldwinville, died peacefully, Sunday, October 20, 2013 in her residence, following a long illness.
Helen was born in North Walpole, NH on November 10, 1931, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Landers) Prendergast.
She graduated from Bellows Falls High School with the Class of 1949.
Helen was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church of Baldwinville, and its' Women's Guild.
She enjoyed swimming, bowling, reading, shopping, biking, cooking, gardening and going to the beach; especially Hampton Beach. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and enjoyed watching the University of Notre Dame football. Helen also enjoyed watching Soap Operas on television; "Days of Our Lives" was her favorite. She loved spending time with her family.
Helen leaves her husband of 57 years, Paul A. McAuliffe, of Baldwinville; five sons, Michael P. McAuliffe of Sanford, FL and his wife Nora of Turners Falls, MA; Charles R. McAuliffe of Baldwinsville, NY, Patrick J. McAuliffe and his significant other Dana Hoover of Leesburg, VA; Paul K. McAuliffe and his wife Kathleen of Baldwiville and William J. McAuliffe and his partner Syl Garcia of SanFrancisco, CA; one daughter, Brigid M. Lambert and her husband Billy, Jr. of Gardner; one brother, John M. Prendergast of North Walpole, NH; one sister, Nancy Caisse and her husband William of Manchester, NH; six grandchildren, Gretchen Mahler and her husband Jay, Jessica McAuliffe and her fiancé Rob Hughes, Max McAuliffe, Amanda Manca and her husband Peter, Matthew McAuliffe and Shannan Lambert; three great-grandchildren Payton Manca, Mia Manca and Sophia Mahler; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves three dear friends, Suzanne Turcotte, Shirley Smith and Carol Demarest.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
