Heather L. Covey, 18, of Gardner died peacefully Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Boston Children's Hospital, following a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Heather was born in Gardner on April 2, 1998, the daughter of Robin (Leaf) Bourque.
She would have been entering her Senior year at Gardner High School this fall.
Heather loved all types of arts and crafts. She also loved painting, camping, boating and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed spending Friday nights at the Polish American Citizens Club of Gardner attending "Cruisin' Nights" and listening to the bands. She dearly loved her four cats, Sandy, Snuggles, Stormy and Snickers. Heather enjoyed making and selling rainbow loom bracelets and forwarded the proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis research. She was a Committee Member for the American Cancer Society, Gardner Relay for Life and loved participating in the Special Olympics.
Heather leaves her mother, Robin (Leaf) Bourque and stepfather, Joey Furr of Gardner; one half-sister, Tia Covey; three aunts, Sharon and her husband Bob Putnam of NC, Annette Robichaud of Gardner and Charlene Robichaud of Gardner; two uncles, Ed Leaf and his wife Jackie of NY and J.R. Lustyik of NY; and her Godmother, Theresa Miller of Gardner.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 30th at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Massachusetts Chapter, 220 North Main Street, Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760. Please note in memory of Heather L. Covey.
