Greta Sylvia Andersson, 104, of Athol, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, August 24, 2017 in Quabbin Valley Nursing Home of Athol.
Born in Jamestown, NY on November 21, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Helga (Larsen) Andersson.
Greta graduated from Jamestown High School with the Class of 1930. She attended Sawyer School of Business in Los Angeles, CA.
She was employed by the Los Angeles Police Department as a Dispatcher for several years, retiring in 1960. Greta was previously employed as an Operator for the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel of Los Angeles.
Greta was an accomplished cellist. She and two of her sisters comprised the Andersson Trio and played at many venues in the Jamestown area.
Greta leaves several cousins. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Ester, Vanda and Vera Andersson.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, September 7th at 3:00 p.m. in Green Bower Cemetery, Union Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
