Gorman "Gordy" L. Suits Jr., 66, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Heywood Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Utica, New York on April 17, 1951, he was the son of the late Gorman and Virginia (Roy) Suits.
Gordy graduated from Utica High School in Utica, New York with the Class of 1969.
He was a United States Marine Corps. Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era and received the National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge.
Gordy was employed by Smileys Taxi of Gardner as a Dispatcher for 15 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of the American Legion, Eugene M. Connor Post 193 of Winchendon.
He was an avid reader, and loved watching sports on television especially car racing, the New England Patriots, and the New York Yankees.
Gordy leaves his wife of 5 years Carol C. (Page) Suits of Gardner; four step-sons, Brian Page of Hubbardston, Travis Miller of Gardner, Trevor Miller of Fall River, and Chris Duval of Winchendon; sister in law, Debbie L. Menear and her husband Jon of Gardner; one aunt Janice Hilley of New York; and a best-friend Nancy M. Richard of Gardner. He was predeceased by two brothers William Suits and Carl Suits; and one sister Denise Suits.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 24th in Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St. Gardner at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
