Gordon J. Ambrose

Gordon J. "Gordy" Ambrose, 70, of 241 Clark St., Gardner died unexpectedly Saturday in Heywood Hospital shortly after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Gardner on August 18, 1934, he was the son of Edmay W. Ambrose who died October 28, 1996 and Jean B. (Sword) Ambrose who died March 12, 1974.
He was a packer employed by Conant & Ball Co. of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1996. He was previously employed by O'Hearn Mfg. Co. of Gardner.
He was a collector of bottles, plates and coca-cola memorabilia. He enjoyed walking in the woods, going out for breakfast and loved sports, especially the Red Sox and the Patriots.
He leaves 1 sister, Joan B. Gould of Gardner, wife of the late Robert Gould who died in 1979; a good friend, Donald Atchue of Gardner with whom he lived for the past 36 years; 1 nephew, Vinnie Gould of Gardner; 2 greatnephews Timothy and Christopher Gould of Westminster; 1 aunt, Wanita Baldwin of New Hampshire and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16th @ 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Wednesday, March 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary School Fund, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440.
