Gloria M. (Alves) (Graves) Shetrawski, 77, of 59 Grant St., Gardner died Monday, July 30th in MA General Hospital, Boston, following a short illness.
Born in Gardner on November 22, 1929, she was the daughter of Paul and Yvonne (Marion) Alves.
Gloria was an assembler employed by Simplex Time Recorder Co. of Gardner for 5 years, retiring in 1992. She was previously a machine operator employed at Gem Industries for 11 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Mrs. Shetrawski was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Her husband of 52 years, Paul P. Shetrawski, died November, 26, 2006.
She leaves 6 sons, Bruce Graves and his wife Bonnie of Otter River, Brian Graves and his wife Priscilla, Barry Graves, Dean Shetrawski, all of Gardner, Steven Shetrawski of Worcester; David Shetrawski and his wife Kristin of Winchendon; 2 daughters, Sharon Crowley and her husband Timothy of Gardner; Sheila Roy of Leominster; 1 brother, Roland "Buster" Alves and his wife Carol of Gardner; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 sons, Dana Shetrawski who died in 1987, Scott Shetrawski who died in 1963, 1daughter, Brenda Ayer who died in 2004, and 1 sister, Jackie Alves. Gloria was also predeceased by her first husband, Eugene F. Graves who died in 1953.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, are Saturday, August 4th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
