Gloria R. (Landry) Richard, 91, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, January 27, 2017 in her residence, surrounded by her three children.
Born in Gardner on January 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Laura (Lafond) Landry.
Gloria graduated from Notre Dame Academy of Toledo, Ohio with the Class of 1943.
She worked for several years in the family business, Gardner Travel Agency. She was previously employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner as an engraver for several years, retiring in 1957.
Gloria was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed golfing, reading, dancing, needlepoint and crossword puzzles. Gloria loved to travel and had visited many countries, she especially loved cruises. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Alfred J. Richard, who died in 2008.
She leaves one son, Thomas J. Richard, his wife Susan Sullivan, and her son Sean Larson; two daughters, Janice E. Conboy and her husband Darren of Lexington, and Carol A. Cormier her husband Ivan of Gardner; two brothers, Frank Landry Jr. of Toledo, OH and James Landry and his wife Celia of Gardner; one sister, Theresa Parker of Athol; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Conboy of Cambridge, Timothy Conboy of Lexington, Laura Conboy of Lexington, Tyler and Ryan Richard of Gardner, and Casey and Curt Cormier of Gardner; three great-grandchildren, Landon Richard, Alexander Cormier and Aubrey Richard; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Sr. Elizabeth Landry of the Grey Nuns and Madalyn Comee.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 1st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, February 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
