Gloria R. (Bennett) Marion, 84, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, formerly of 24 Ridgewood Lane, Gardner died peacefully Sunday, September 4, 2011 in the Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner following a long illness, with her son and her sister by her side.
Gloria was born on January 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Frederick and Blanche (Cowdrey) Bennett.
She was employed by Nichols and Stone Manufacturing Company in Gardner as a repairwoman for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
Gloria was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. She enjoyed spending time playing Bingo.
She was predeceased by her husband, Napoleon Marion, who died in 1953.
Gloria leaves one son, Edward J. Marion and his wife Sheila of Gardner; one brother, Clyde Bennett of South Ashburnham; one sister, Mary Shea and her husband John of Westminster; four grandchildren, Carrie Cox of Templeton, Jason Marion of Gardner, Tabitha Marion of Gardner and Becky Fales of North Chelmsford; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Haylee, Taylor, Sydney, Austin and Valerie; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Francis P. Marion, who died in 2004; five brothers, Roland Bennett, Frederick Bennett, Kenneth Bennett, Francis Bennett and Melvin Bennett; and by four sisters, Dorothy Gransiewicz, Caroline Daneault, Rachel Pellett and Georgette Bennett.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, September 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
