Gladys M. (Johnson) (Franklin) Marion, 92 of 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville and formerly of 104 Church St., Gardner, died Wednesday, January 7th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following an illness.
Born in Templeton on October 6, 1911, she was the daughter of John and Anna Carolyn (Ness) Johnson.
She was a sales clerk employed by Goodnow-Pearson Co. of Gardner for several years. She previously was employed by the former Puritan Clothing Co. of Gardner. At one time Mrs. Marion was an Otter River news correspondent for the Gardner News.
She was a member of St. Martin's Church and was one of the organizers of its Catholic Women's Club. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers.
Her first husband was John Franklin of Otter River and her last husband was Emery Marion.
She leaves 1 son, J. Barry Franklin of Westmoreland, NH; 1 stepson, Richard Marion of Gardner; a stepdaughter, Lorraine Foley of Gardner; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Franklin of San Francisco, CA.
Mrs. Marion has requested that her body be donated to science.
A graveside service in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton, will be held at a later date.
