Gerard J."Gerry" Pineau

Gerard J. "Gerry" Pineau, 83, of 19 City Hall Avenue, Gardner, died Monday, August 12, 2013 in Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Born in N.B. Canada on December 30, 1929, he was the son of the late Mathias and Zelma (Gallant) Pineau.
Gerard was a carpenter with the Local Carpenters Union for many years. He was previously employed in the maintenance department of Collier Keyworth Manufacturing Company of Gardner.
He studied at the Trappist Monastery in Rogersville, N.B. Canada.
Gerard was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, and its Perpetual Adoration Chapel. He was formerly a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner, and was a Eucharistic Minister, Altar Server and a member of the church choir.
Gerard was a member of the Acadien Social Club of Gardner and was a Fourth Degree Member and former past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Beaven Assembly.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing, traveling and vegetable and flower gardening. He loved spending time at Wells Beach, Maine, which was his vacation destination for 40 years. Gerard enjoyed square dancing and was a member of Two Hearts As One Square Dancing Club. He was a talented carpenter, constructing several altars in both Canada and the United States. He also constructed the tabernacle in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Gerards most favorite times were those spent with his family.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Clara M. (Doucet) Pineau of Gardner; one son, Romeo J. Pineau and his wife Christine of Merrimack, NH; two daughters, Doris M. Powers and her husband Michael of Gardner and Joan M. Garneau and her husband Francis of Gardner; one brother, Bruno Pineau LeBlanc and his wife Della of Rogersville, N.B. Canada; two sisters, Suzanne Blais and her husband Joseph of Rogersville, N.B. Canada and Marie Rose Arseneau and her husband Leo of Fredricton, N.B. Canada; seven grandchildren, Amy Rheaume and her husband Michael of Derry, NH, Jill Cote and her husband Todd of Manchester, NH, James Pineau and his wife Bethany of Ashburnham; Andrew Pineau of Merrimack, NH, Nicholas Bourgeois of Merrimack, NH, Jared Garneau of Gardner and Tarah Garneau of Gardner; six great-grandchildren, Kevin and Cole Rheaume, Callen, Annabelle and Evelyn Cote, and Ella Pineau; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Henri, Jeremie, Edelbert and infant brother Gerard.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 16th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
