Geraldine M. "Gene" (Plouffe) Collins, 86, of Leominster, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, July 3, 2017 in Keystone Center of Leominster, following a long illness.
Born in Winchendon on February 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Mary Jane (Desrosiers) Plouffe.
Gene was employed by Colonial Chair of Gardner as a sander and painter for eight years, retiring in 1957.
She was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Gene enjoyed cooking, watching television and traveling. She also loved doing crossword puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Myron A. Collins, who died November 30, 1994.
Gene leaves one brother, Arthur C. Plouffe and his wife Leona of Gardner; two sisters, Claire I. Beauregard of Gardner and Hermine A. Eaton of E. Templeton; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Alfred A. Perry; daughter, Linda M. Cole; brother, Jules C. Plouffe; and sisters, Therese M. Overstreet, Priscilla M. Hamel and Irene E. Hamel.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 11th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, July 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
