Gerald J. "J.J." Poirier, Jr., 35, of 351 Elm Street, Gardner, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 27th in his residence.
He was born in Gardner on October 14, 1972, the son of Gerald J. and Donna M. (Collette) Poirier, Sr.
Gerald attended Gardner High School and Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner. He graduated from the New England Fuel Institute, Watertown, MA in 2002. He was a former member of the National Guard.
Gerald was a forklift operator employed by Aubuchon Hardware in Westminster for the past two years. He previously was employed by Future Electronics, Bolton.
"J.J." was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He was a member of the Gardner Fish & Gun Club. He was also a weight lifter for many years at Iron World Gym in Gardner.
Gerald was a licensed oil-burner technician. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing and loved being in the woods camping and hiking. Gerald was a true outdoorsman.
Besides his parents of Gardner, he leaves one brother, Adam C. Poirier of Gardner; his paternal grandmother, Marjorie (Fucile) (Poirier) Sokolowski of Gardner; his maternal grandmother, Doris (Hebert) Collette of Gardner; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, December 2nd from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
