George A. LaFleur, 70, of 116 Church St., Gardner, died unexpectedly Friday, January 12, in his residence.
Born in Worcester on December 16, 1936, he was the son of George E. and Sarah (Grann) LaFleur.
He was a custodian employed by Holy Cross College of Worcester for several years until retiring in 1989.
George enjoyed reading and fishing.
He was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran and served from 1955 to 1959.
He leaves a brother, Bernard H. LaFleur and his wife Florence of Tacoma, WA, a sister, Phyllis Reynhoute and her husband Roger of E. Greenwich, RI; an uncle, Richard Grann; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family from members of the A.A. Association of Gardner.
He was predeceased by a brother John Turner who died in 2003 and a sister, Jeannie Wright who also died in 2003.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 22nd at 1:00 p.m. in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Rev. Andre Dargis, pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church will officiate.
