Genevieve ""Babci"" Kwasny

March 10, 1925 — November 4, 2007

Genevieve "Babci" (Lukaszevicz) Kwasny, 82, of 381 Pearl Street, Gardner, died Sunday, November 4th in her residence following an illness.

She was born in Athol on March 10, 1925, the daughter of Joseph W. and Nellie (Brzuchalski) Lukaszevicz.

Genevieve was a Customer Service Manager employed by S. Bent and Co., for nine years, retiring in 1991. She was previously employed by George Bent as an Administrative Assistant. Genevieve owned and operated Ed's Mailing Service in her home from 1960 thru 1978.

Mrs. Kwasny was a 1942 graduate of Athol High School, and was Valedictorian of her class.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its Parish Council. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.

During World War II Genevieve was a Air Raid Warden and relayed messages from soldiers to their families over a short wave station.

Genevieve loved her dog. She took much pride in her home and loved being outdoors working in her yard and garden. She also refinished her entire home, including refinishing the kitchen cabinets. Her hobbies included reading and creating greeting cards. Genevieve enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.

Her husband of 24 years, Edward T. Kwasny died May 9, 1972.

She leaves one daughter, Nellie Anne Langlois and her husband John N. of Gardner; one sister-in-law, Marion Lukaszevicz of Orange; three grandchildren, James E., Andrew J. and Samuel G. Langlois all of Gardner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Lukaszevicz who died in 1971.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Joseph' Church, 358 Pleasant Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, November 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
