Gary S. Burdett, 61, of East Templeton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 22, 2019.
He was born in Athol, MA on February 14, 1958, the son of the late Randolph and Lucille (Grosvenor) Burdett. Gary graduated from Narragansett Regional High School with the Class of 1976. He was employed by RH Lemieur Company for over 5 years; and he was a Correctional Officer with the Department of Corrections, NCCI Gardner for 32 years prior to retiring in 2013.
Among his many hobbies were hiking (especially at Quabbin Reservoir and the Grand Canyon), watching football, playing golf, going to the beach in Ocean Park, ME, playing guitar with his brothers, playing poker, and gardening. Above all else, he treasured his family and his four grandchildren who adored him.
Gary leaves his wife of 41 years, Eileen (Royer) Burdett of East Templeton; son, Noah Burdett and his wife Jennifer of Acton; daughter, Nicole St.Pierre and her husband Wilson of Hopkinton; grandchildren, Caden, Emmett, Liana, and Truman; brothers, Newton Burdett, Greg Burdett and his wife Vanessa, Mark Burdett and his wife Celeste, Cory Burdett, Kent Burdett; sister, Elizabeth Penney and her husband Steve. He was predeceased by his brother Keith Burdett.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
