Gail Marie Couture, 53, of 11 Wright Street, Gardner, died Sunday, September 21st in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Lawrence, on February 26, 1955, she was the daughter of Lucien G. and Dorothy (Thibodeau) Couture.
Prior to retiring in 2005 due to illness, Gail was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Apple Valley Nursing Home in Ayer. She was previously employed by Sabal Palms Nursing Home in Largo, Florida.
Gail graduated from Methuen High School, Methuen with the class of 1972. She graduated in 1988, with an Associates Degree in Nursing from Northern Essex Community College, Lawrence.
Gail was a member of Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints, Gardner.
She was a certified scuba diver, enjoyed rock climbing, camping and the ocean. She was a huge fan of the band Led Zeppelin. Gail most enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
She leaves her mother, Dorothy (Thibodeau) Couture of Methuen; two sons, Gregory K. Lavigne of Rockport and Adam R. Couture of Gardner; one daughter, Nicolle B. Couture of Springhill, FL; two brothers, Gary Couture of Methuen and Greg Couture and his wife Cindy of Lawrence; one sister, Dorothy "Dolly" Couture of Methuen; one granddaughter, whom she adored, Janessa N. Baughman of Springhill, FL; her best friend, Pamela Heckel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. in Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints, 634 Pearl Street, Gardner. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Dracut.
There are no calling hours.
