Gabrielle E."Gaby" Marion

Gabrielle E. "Gaby" Marion, 97, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner and formerly of 260 West Street, Gardner died peacefully and gently, Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the Legend Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner.
Gabrielle was born in Gardner on March 2, 1914, the daughter of the late Noe H. and Amanda O. (Fredette) Marion.
She was a 1930 graduate of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Preparatory School in Gardner.
Gabrielle was employed for many years as a Matron for St. Mary's Parish in Ware. She later was employed by Montachusett Child Care Center in Gardner.
Gabrielle was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Gardner.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and taking care of her family. She was involved for many years with the "Adopt A Grandparent" program with Elm Street School students. Gabrielle was known for her kindness and compassion with fellow patients at the Legend Center. She took part in many of the programs provided by the Activities Department, and will be remembered for her love of singing.
Gabrielle leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond J. Marion; and by her six sisters, Sr. Amanda E. Marion, Sr. Sonia C. Marion, Beatrice Marion, Cecile Marion, Rita Leger and Estelle Gonyeo.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.

Gabrielle's family is grateful to the staff for their compassion and dedicated care during her four years at the Legends Center.
