Frederick E. "Ricky" Perry, 56, of 20 Ware Drive, Templeton, died Saturday, June 25th in Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on January 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Edward E. Perry.
At the time of his death he was an engineer employed by WHIPPS, INC. of Athol for the last 6 years. He was previously employed by Rodney Hunt Co. of Orange for 24 years.
Mr. Perry was a 1967 graduate of Gardner High School and graduated from United Technical Institute in 1970 with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was past president of the Athol Lions Club. He was a woodworker and enjoyed working around the house and doing landscaping.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He leaves his mother, Claire (LeBlanc) Perry of Gardner; a son, Michael C. Perry of Orange; a daughter, Nicole R. Perry of Boston; a sister, Eileen Connor of Jaffrey, NH; 1 niece, 2 nephews and several cousins. He also leaves his fiancee, Joanne Moreau of Baldwinville and his former wife, Susan G. (Cook) Perry of Fitchburg.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, June 30th, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St. at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, June 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
