Fred R. Wheeler, 69, of 261 Main St., Gardner, died Monday, March 3rd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Worcester on February 8, 1939, he was the son of Roland and Edda (Clark) Wheeler.
Fred was a laborer employed by Superior Friction Co. of Gardner for 5 years. He was previously employed at 101 Car Wash of Gardner for 9
years.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner.
Fred leaves his wife of 12 years, Cecile Y. (Montville) Wheeler of Gardner; 1 son, Fred R. Wheeler Jr. of Winchendon; 2 daughters, Cheryl M. Wheeler of Gardner and Michelle Wheeler of Worcester; a stepson, Daniel Patriquin of Templeton; a stepdaughter, Luan A. Goewey of Athol; 2 brothers, Warren Wheeler and his wife Tracy, Herbert and his wife Colleen all of Athol; 1 sister, Mary Carson and her husband Ernie of Swanzey, NH; 2 stepgrandchildren, Jeffrey and Michael Goewey; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Wheeler Jr., a brother, Frank Wheeler, and 4 sisters, Florence Mitchell, Ora Whitenick, Thelma Dean and Evelyn Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Saturday, March 8th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
