Franklin J. "Frank" Murphy, 72, of 254 Pleasant Street, Gardner died Thursday, November 17, 2011 in his residence surrounded by family, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on May 4, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Blanche (Lamarche) Murphy.
Frank was a self-employed auto mechanic for many years. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1956.
He enjoyed building things, especially model airplanes and cars. Frank most enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves one son, Glenn D. Murphy and his wife Christine of Gardner; four daughters, Elizabeth A. Gary and her husband Steven of Greenfield, Brenda L. Norton and her husband Todd of Gardner, Lianne M. Valliere and her husband Mark of Templeton and Sharon L. Murphy and her long-time companion Donald Hutchins of Gardner; three brothers, James Murphy and his wife Barbara of St. Augustine, FL, Mark Murphy and his wife Claire of Templeton and Paul Murphy and his wife Marsha of Templeton; one brother-in-law, Roland Baillargeon of Southboro; his former wife, Frances M. (Stimson) Murphy of Gardner; several grandchildren including two special grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Hutchins; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Armand Murphy who died in 2006 and by one sister, Martha Baillargeon who died in 2007.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 21st at 2:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Monday, November 21st from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
