Frank R. Crossman, 87, of 36 Nutting Street, Gardner died Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in Hubbardston on December 25, 1926, he was the son of the late Frank N. and May (Nutting) Crossman.
Frank graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1944.
He was a United States WWII Army Veteran and received the Army of Occupation Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Frank was employed by S. Bent & Brothers, Inc. of Gardner as a foreman for 37 years. He was previously employed by several other local furniture shops.
He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, candlepin bowling, biking and playing hockey. He was an avid New England sports fan. He enjoyed spending time at the Gardner Fish and Gun Club. Frank loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Mary R. (Parent) Crossman, who died April 26, 2011.
He leaves two sons, Frank R. Crossman and his wife Tammy of Dover, NH and Dennis M. Kelly of Bourne; one daughter, Ann E. Brasili of Gardner; nine grandchildren, Corey Crossman, Todd Crossman, Troy Crossman, Deanna Phinney, Denise Kline, Derick Brunelle, Shane Kelly, Danny Brasili and Angela Peck; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Everlyn Sanden and Ferne Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Greenbower Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be Wednesday, April 30th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
