Francois J. "Frenchie" Bourque, 71, of 35 Club Road, E. Templeton and 4097 46th Ave. North, St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of 222 Chestnut St., Gardner, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 25th in St. Petersburg, FL.
Born in Rogersville, NB, Canada on March 18, 1934, he was the son of Eric and Julie (Bourgeois) Bourque.
He was a driver last employed by Consumer Auto Parts of Gardner. He was previously a machinist employed the ESP Lock of Fitchburg and Collier-Keyworth Co. of Gardner.
Mr. Bourque was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He belonged to the West End Beagle Club and Templeton Fish & Game Club. He was an 'outdoors man' who especially enjoyed cutting down trees, fishing, hunting and motorcycling. He also enjoyed playing cards and making puzzles.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Emerise (Henry) Bourque of E. Templeton; 1 son, Laurie J. Bourque of Moncton, NB, Canada; 3 daughters, Theresa M. Bourque of Kingston, NH, Louina M. Richard and husband Raymond of Baldwinville, Linda M. Cormier and husband Ricky of Gardner; 7 brothers, Marcel B. Bourque and wife Linda of Chapeau, Quebec, France B. Bourque and wife Michelle of Sherbrook, Quebec, , Leo B. Bourque and wife Esta of Moncton, NB, George B. Bourque and wife Annette, Edmond B. Bourque and wife Maria all of Rogersville, NB, Ernest B. Bourque and wife Lisa of Toronto; Louis B. Bourque and wife Patricia of Nova Scotia; 6 sisters, Rita Darrah and husband Joseph, Irene Arsenault and husband Cloris all of St. John, NB, Yvonne Caissie and husband David, Sister Theresa Bourque of the Sisters of Trapestine all of Rogersville, NB, Germaine Bourque of Moncton, NB, Geraldine Landry and husband Donald of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia; 5 grandchildren, Jamie and Andrew Richard, Matthew and Adam MacGrath and Ashley Cormier; 1 aunt, Eva Melanson of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Albert, Fidele and Gerald Bourque.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, January 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
