Francis "Bucky" Powers, 83, of 10 Central St., Ashburnham, died Sunday, March 2nd in Worcester Memorial Hospital, Worcester, from injuries sustained after being struck by an automobile in Ashburnham on February 25th.
Born in Gardner on April 19, 1924, he was the son of William T. and Amanda M. (Mailloux) Powers.
He was a machinist employed by Gem Industries of Gardner for several years until retiring in 1988. He was previously employed by Garbose Brothers of Gardner and the Boston & Maine Railroad.
Francis was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner.
He enjoyed making crossword puzzles and playing bingo.
He was a W.W. II U.S. Navy Veteran and served from 1941 to 1942.
He was predeceased by his wife Elsa Powers, a brother William T. Powers Jr. and a sister, Theresa C. Fontaine.
He leaves 2 sisters, Rita A. Niall and Lorraine N. Charland both of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, in the Spring.

The Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, is in charge of arrangements.
