Francis J. Belliveau, 84, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 6th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner following a brief illness.
Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada on March 27, 1926, he was the son of the late Edward and Dometilde (Doiron) Belliveau.
Francis married Lorraine Antoinette Bourgeois on August 12, 1947 in Moncton, N.B. Canada. They moved to the United States on June 5, 1956, and enjoyed 50 years of marriage, prior to her death on January 4, 1998.
Francis was employed by Banner Mold and Die Company, Inc.of Leominster as a Tool and Die Maker for 38 plus years. He retired in 1996, and was greatly loved and missed by his co-workers.
Francis was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He lived his life as a devout Catholic, and believed in the promise of Everlasting Life.
He served in the Royal Canadian Army and was also a member of Royalston Fish and Game Club.
Francis loved playing his many musical instruments, especially his guitar. He enjoyed playing golf any chance he could get, and especially enjoyed his Thursday night golf outings with his daughter Bernice. Francis liked watching the weather channel on television. His other hobbies included, reading, fishing and painting. He loved to travel to Canada and Florida. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Francis especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Francis was well loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor which brought much joy to all, and for his willingness to always lend a hand when needed. Francis had a profound impact on the lives of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Francis is survived by one son, Paul A. Belliveau, Sr. of Northwood, NH; four daughters, Jeannette E. Cuffe and her husband John of Tolland, CT, Bernice A. Morrill and her husband James of Phillipston, Josette S. Bellabarba and her husband Dennis of Phillipston and Charlotte A. Belliveau of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Florine Gallant and Angeline Belliveau both of Leominster; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Belliveau of Dieppe, N.B. Canada; six grandchildren, Tara Tower, Paul Belliveau, Jr., Jennifer Hodgdon, Adam Clark, Rachel Cuffe and Laura Cuffe; four great-grandchildren, Paige Belliveau, Nicole Hodgdon, Samantha Tower and Blake Tower; a dear friend, Ethel Drasher of Berlin; several nieces and nephews in Canada. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by one brother, Leo Belliveau.
Funeral Services will held Friday, June 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, June 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
