Frances M Girouard

Frances M. (Kacian) Girouard, 85, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.

            Born in Gardner on June 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antonette (Milewski) Kacian.

            Frances graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1951, and attended Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner. She was employed by the Gardner Housing Authority as the Bookkeeper for 11 years, retiring in 1996. She was previously the Bookkeeper for Newcomb & Walsh, Inc. for several years.

            Frances was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers and Two Hearts As One Square Dancing Club.

            Frances enjoyed traveling throughout New England staying at various Bed and Breakfasts, and also taking day trips to Boston. She loved line dancing, polka dancing and square dancing. She was an animal lover who had many beloved pets. She enjoyed living life to the fullest and took great delight in trying new things. Frances will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

            She leaves her husband of 64 years, Jovide N. Girouard of Gardner; son, Kenneth J. Girouard of Grand Junction, CO; daughters, Judith F. Taylor and her husband John of Evergreen, CO, Mary E. Girouard of Albany, OR, Susan B. Girouard and her husband Michael Yamada of Portland, OR, Catherine A. Girouard of Tempe, AZ, Pamela J. Girouard and her husband Michael Linaman of Hendersonville, NC, Ellen C. Girouard and her husband Michael Sokolov of Newton, and Laura B. Gillick and her husband Mark of Florence, CO; brothers, Joseph Kacian and his wife Stella of Gardner, and Chester Kacian of Millegeville, GA; grandchildren, Melody, Matilda, Rosemary, Sophie, Max, Scout, Caleb and Seth; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Wacy and Walter Kacian; and sisters, Annie Rafalowski, Nellie Gilhooly, Antoinette Brideau and Regina Chabot.

            Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery of Gardner at a later date.

            Calling hours will be held Friday, December 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
