Frances M. (Estey) Collette, 87, of Orange and formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, December 18th in Quabbin Valley Health Care, Athol, following an illness.
Born on February 27, 1918, she was the daughter of Millard F. and Chloe (Steady) Estey.
She was a floor lady employed by Dosan Sportswear of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1983.
She was a 1936 graduate of Orange High School and belonged to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She was a member of King James Tenants' Association of Orange, St. Mary's Women's Club of Orange, Athol Senior Bowling Team and past president of the Gardner Emblem Club. She enjoyed bingo, traveling, being with her family, country western music, cribbage and whist.
Her husband of 50 years, Herve C. Collette, died in 1995.
She leaves 1 brother, Millard F. Estey of Ocala, FL; 2 sisters, Illene M. Bolduc and Inez L. Wold both of Orange; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 1 brother Vaughn Estey and 1 sister, Beatrice E. Williams.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, December 21st from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
