Forrest W. McPherson, 83, of Gardner, died peacefully, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester.
Born in Athol on April 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Norman McPherson and Sylvia L. (Maybe, McPherson) Hebert. He attended Athol High School. Forrest served in the United States Army Reserve’s from 1956 till 1962. He was a Grinder employed by C&W Fabrications of Gardner for several years prior to his retirement.
He was a congregant of the United Parish of Winchendon. He enjoyed singing, and helping at both United Parish church and at the Mission St. Congregational Church in Gardner. He was a jack of all trades and could do just about anything in the area of maintenance and repair.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 32-years, Rachel E. (Allain, Bilodeau) McPherson of Gardner; three stepsons, Edmond P. Bilodeau and his wife Mary of West Virginia, James E. Bilodeau and his wife Lynnette of Gardner and Paul Kris Bilodeau of Gardner; a stepdaughter, Jane T. LeBlanc of Ashburnham; six brothers: Collin Hebert, Kenneth McPherson, Norman McPherson, Russell McPherson, Roger McPherson and Howard McPherson; four sisters, Rosanna Broeckel, Viola Pritchard, Gloria LaBonte, and Beverly J Hastings; twelve step-grandchildren; twenty one step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Warren Hebert; a brother, Gardner McPherson; and three sisters, June Culver, Norma Kaufman, and Faith Pellon.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at United Parish of Winchendon, 39 Front Street, Winchendon, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
