Florence M. Cormier, 93, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, formerly of 161 Spruce Street, Leominster, died peacefully Sunday May 30th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following a long illness.
Born in Notre Dame, Canada on September 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Napoleon and Melissi (LeBlanc) Cormier.
Prior to retiring in 1984, Florence was a stitcher employed by Selig Manufacturing of Leominster for 35 years.
Florence was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Leominster and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her friends, traveling and watching soap operas and "Wheel of Fortune" on television.
Florence leaves four sisters, Valida Richard and her husband Romeo of Waltham, Diane Robichaud of Moncton, N.B. Canada, Viola LeBlanc and her husband Paul of St. Antoine, Canada and Eva Girouard of Gardner; one sister-in-law, Edmee Cormier of Gardner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by five brothers, Raymond, Emile, Claurie, Emerie and Leandre Cormier and by five sisters, Lena Cormier, Edna Gallant, Mary Bourque, Lorraine LeBlanc and Leonie LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
